The equine anatomy shows certain characteristics that can only be found in the horse. Horse vets and farriers, horse riders and anybody involved in keeping horses need to be familiar with the horse anatomy and get as much anatomical insights as possible. A number of diseases and anatomical disorders in equines are cause by the anatomical characteristics of horses or by the lacking awareness of the equine anatomy. Sometimes it is even possible to recognise diseases, nutritinal problems etc. that might have happened in the past, just by looking at a hoof and the pathologies and malformations which it might show.
