Anatomical corrosion casts (blood vessel configurations)

posted in: Allgemein | 0

Casting liquid plastic into a system of hollow cavities creates anatomical preparations, which after setting are separated from the surrounding tissue.
Naturally casts of the vascular system are the most frequent and impressing corrosion preparations.
But also airways, bile ducts, urinary tract system and lymphatic system can be visua-lised. In addition casts of e.g. nasolacrimal ducts or the auditory system in relation to casts of the body surfaces or combined skeleton-vessel-preparation can be created.

HC Biovision is capable of individually adapting the flow and solidifying behaviour of plastics, in order to optimise the portrayal of embedded subtleties (e.g. blood capillaries or endothelium cell nuclei).

Figure plastinates can be easily handled and viewed from all sides, even though their appearance compares to that of anatomical wet preparations. They feel dry and clean. Thereby the haptic impression developed through touching and feeling the plastinate stands in the forefront. Structures poorly understood from pictures or models, such as heart valves, hollow organs or nervous tissue, are made visible and comprehensible.

Figure plastinates play an important role as auxiliary material in courses and anatomical preparation classes. Clinical examinations, e.g. gastroscopy, can be realistically recreated and stages of preparation demonstrated step by step.
